The Dutch Shepherd
(Hollandse Herdershond to the Dutch) ancestry dates back to The
Netherlands before the 20th century. One hundred years ago the
Dutch Shepherd herded & guarded sheep against predators.
Today it is a loyal, obedient member of the family, as well as a
drug detection, bomb detection and rescue team member. The Dutch
Shepherd protects dignitaries and children alike.
The Dutch Shepherd is an active, powerful, well-muscled dog with
a typical shepherd temperament, eager to please and
oblige.
